They’re called “honey badgers” because of their fondness for honey and honeybee larvae.
They’re omnivores and also eat insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals, as well as roots, bulbs, berries, and fruits.
They live in covered and forested regions of Africa and southern Asia. Widely spread in Uganda but uncommon and rarely seen because they’re nocturnal and extremely secretive.
They sleep most of the day, rounding up into a ball to protect their face and body.
They have a high pain threshold, allowing them to endure injuries or withstand venomous bites from snakes, scorpions, or other venomous creatures. This tolerance for pain enables them to continue fighting or escaping even under challenging circumstances.
They’re known to savagely and fearlessly attack almost any other species when escape is impossible. Possible to repel even much bigger predators like lions, hyena or leopard.
